Marrakech Arrival
Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Marrakech – Essaouira (170 km approx.)
In the morning, departure for Essaouira, the old Mogador, and an old Portuguese city port on the Atlantic famous for its marquetry. In Essaouira you will visit: Agran forest, Argan cooperative, fishing port, Sqala, kasbah, medina and souks. And afternoon a walk on the beautiful beach.
Essaouira - Safi - El Jadida - Casablanca (about 350 km)
Dafter breakfast in your hotel departure for Safi, important city for its ceramics. A tour in the city and continuation by the coastal road to Oualidia and El Jadida, ancient Portuguese city with its walls facing the ocean. Walk on the fortifications which offer magnificent panoramas on the city, the harbor and the sea and visit of the Portuguese cistern. Stop for lunch and continue to Casablanca.
Casablanca - Rabat (about 80 km)
Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco and the economic capital. During the city tour of Casablanca we will visit the main attractive sites: Mohamed V Square, Arab League Park, stop in front of the Hassan II Grand Mosque (optional visit except religious holidays: 120 MAD to be paid on the spot), walk on the ledge/Cornish where restaurants follow one another, hotels, shops and cafe terraces.
Departure for Rabat, political and administrative capital, on the Atlantic coast. The city tour of Rabat includest: visit of Mechouar, entrance of the Royal Palace, Chellah (13th century merinid necropolis), mausoleum Mohamed V (white marble pavilion crowned with green tiles), Hassan tower (12th century) and kasbah of Oudayas (first royal residence ) with its Hispano-Moorish style gardens.
Rabat-Tangier (about 150 km)
After breakfast in your hotel in Rabat we will drive through the highway to visit Tangier, crossroads of Europe and Africa, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. In Tangier we will explore the old town and visit the old Kasbah settled in the top of hill with a panoramic view over the Mideterranian Sea, visit to Cape Spartel and the caves of Hercules.
Strait of Gibraltar - Tetouan - Chefchaouen - Fez (about 350 km)
Departure to Cape Malabata and Ksar Es Seghir along the Strait of Gibraltar. Visit of Tetouan: Moulay El Mehdi square, the entrance of the Royal Palace, Bab Okla, the house of crafts. After lunch in Tetouan we will continue to the pearl blue of the Rif through the Akchour waterfalls: Chaouen (Chefchaouen), holy city of the 15th century. Discovery of the medina and kasbah. Then continue to Fez.
Fez guided city tour
Pearl of the Arab world, Fez is the spiritual, intellectual and cultural capital of Morocco. Day dedicated to the visit of this prestigious city. In the morning, Fez el Bali with the medina and its souks, zaouïa of Moulay Idriss, madrassah Bouanania, Nejjarine place with its beautiful fountain, Nejjarine museum of arts and crafts of the wood, crafts workshops Fassi.
Lunch then Fez el Jedid: mellah, entrance to the Royal Palace, complex of potters and tower walls; panorama of the city from the Merinid tombs (14th century). Optional: Moroccan evening (including 1/4 wine and 1/2 water) 380 MAD to be paid locally.
Volubilis - Meknes - Fez (150 km approx.)
Departure for Volubilis, one of the best preserved Moroccan sites, a Roman city with its magnificent mosaics. After the visit of the wite we will continue to Meknes, imperial city. Moroccan lunch in a palace. Visit: Bab Mansour gates, famous all over the world, Bab El-Khemiss, main entrance of the old mellah, granary, stables and mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl. Back to Fez. Late afternoon free.
Fes – Ifran – Azrou - Midelt – Ziz gorges – Erfoud- Merzouga
Via Azrou, with its cedar forest; where we will stop to meet the Barbary apes, and the Zad pass (2,178 m) in the Middle Atlas, departure for Midelt at the foot of Jebel El Ayachi where we will stop to have lunch in a local restaurant. Then continue crossing the High Atlas with the parade of N'Zala and the Gorges du Ziz towards Errachidia. Along the way, you will appreciate the beauty and diversity of the landscapes. Arrival to Merzouga, exchange the car with camel for a new adventure and for an overnight in desert camp.
Erfoud – Tazzarine – Nkob - Zagora (about 260 km)
Early wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes and ride camel back to the village of Merzouga, then, drive to the twon of Rissani to visit the biggest markets and the oldest one in Morocco. And then, continue to Zagora crossing the Jebel Saghro, with its lunar landscapes of plateaus, peaks and canyons and the immensity of its spaces, to the villages of stones and adobe of Tazzarine and N'Kob. Continue to Zagora, the last caravan stop before the desert, and discover the ksar of Tissergate with its maze of alleys.
Zagora – Draa valley – Agdez - Ouarzazate (about 160 km)
The Draa Valley, from Zagora to Ouarzazate, is a succession of gorges and depressions with islands of greenery formed by oases. Crossing the village of Agdz then visit the Kasbah of Tamnougalte, a fortified old palace surrounded by walls, a striking example of traditional southern Moroccan architecture. Stop at the kasbah of Taourirt, formerly residence of the pasha of Marrakech. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
1000 kasbah road and Todra Gorges Day trip from Ouarzazate
The 1,000 kasbah road runs from Skoura to Dades valley; it is dotted with fortified earthen sets with beautiful ocher colors. Departure for the large palm grove Skoura whose inhabitants of many villages live from agriculture.
Arrival at Kelaa M'Gouna, known for its "Rose Festival" which takes place in May. Crossing the Dades river towards Tinerhir before reaching the Todra Gorge, massive fault of 250 m high at the bottom of which flows a river with crystal clear waters. Back to Boumalne du Dades, then Ouarzazate for another night.
Ouarzazate – ait ben haddou Kasbah – Marrakech city tour (about 200 km)
After breakfast we will drive to ksar ait ben haddou, a fortified palace and a world heritage site where many international movies were shot (Gladiator, the Lawrence of Arabia, mommy, games of throne, ….). Continue to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas by the Tizi N'Tichka pass (2,260 m above sea level) and arrival in Marrakech. Top tourist spot, Marrakech is the third largest city in Morocco and second imperial city after Fes. The city tour of Marrakech includes: stop in front of the Koutoubia, representative building of the art of the Almohades, visit of the museum of Marrakech (ceramics, pottery, jewels), Palace of the Bahia, masterpiece of the Moroccan architecture with its gardens and its patios Saadian tombs where you will be impressed by the beauty of the decoration and crossing the Djemaa El Fna square, a tourist attraction.
Marrakech guided city tour 2nd day
In the morning, visit the outskirts of the city: Garden of Menara planted with olive trees, tower walls, medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of Arab-Andalusian architecture, and Majorelle garden (botanical garden of the French painter Jacques Majorelle).
Free afternoon to walk in the souks or enjoy a hammam and massage.
Optional: Fantasia dinner show.
Marrakech Departure
At the scheduled time transfer to the airport for return flight.
