Not a minute to lose. It is absolutely necessary to climb to the top of this dune to not miss anything of the sunset. For every step one makes in these quicksand, one recoils two. You end up on all fours to successfully climb to the top. Challenge met. You will be out of breath, soaked in sweat, well silted, but your efforts are rewarded by a magnificent show of light on these mounds carved permanently by the wind. The dunes illuminate with golden hues before igniting in red, fuchsia, pale pink, a whole palette of shapes and colors drawn by the last light of the day. You will suddenly have the urge to sing loudly. The sound resonates to infinity, but no one can hear your false notes, except perhaps your camel guides who must now be quite used to the euphoric reactions of the visitors of Merzouga.

Psammatotherapy or arenotherapy or sand therapy or curative burial in sands or sand baths is a gentle medicine for people with rheumatism. It is actually literally sand baths, that is to say burying a few minutes in the hot sand of the dunes of Merzouga. Even though this practice is more frequent for locals, there is nevertheless a real tourism related to health in Merzouga.

SAND BOARDING & QUAD BIKING
Erg Chebbi is also the ideal place for hiking in the Sahara or trekking on foot, mountain bike, or camel, it is also possible to practice paragliding or kites surfing from the great dune of Merzouga, an unforgettable sensations. A descent of the big dune to ski, surfing, bodyboarding, sledding ... Of course, the great dune of Merzouga is not equipped with ski lift, so it is on foot or possibly with a camel that you can climb, and then have fun down the slope for almost 160 meters! The Africa Hostel will gracefully lend you equipment usually used for winter sport.
